Quality Council for Trades and Occupations

The QCTO has replaced individual quality assurance bodies that were linked to SETA's and has brought in a new series of learning linked to occupational qualifications or part-qualifications. The following services are provided for work linked to the QCTO.

Services

QCTO CAPACITY BUILDING WORKSHOP

The QCTO Capacity building workshop helps to understand the different role players and how to unpack the three documents linked to each occupational certificate. It is an information sharing workshop on the QCTO and understanding the qualification documents (three part), requirements to become a provider that manages the delivery of learning, and workplace assessment component. (4 hours)

  • These can be done online through Zoom or Adobe Connect, or for onsite training an additional cost for travel is added to the quote.

QCTO alignment of current material and QCTO registration

For providers wishing to undertake submission of application to the QCTO for an Occupational Certificate or part-qualification the process is scoped and managed according to the requirements and submitted to the QCTO.

In order to do this, the Provider must undergo alignment to the QCTO in order to be an accredited training provider, which meets the requirements of national standards. The delivery of learning is different to the unit standard based qualifications previously offered by SETA’s and focuses on different delivery requirements. Learning material – Knowledge Component, Practical Component and the Workplace Logbook, need to be developed as per the requirements noted in the QCTO documents. (A quote is available for the registration of each qualification or part-qualification).

  • Meetings and discussions can be done online through Zoom or Adobe Connect, or for onsite meetings an additional cost for travel is added to the quote.

QCTO development of material and QCTO registration

If no material currently exists, this can be developed for a qualification but it should be noted that detail of learning material and the requirements to offer knowledge and practical based learning requires more detailed material than can be purchased online. Therefore, this process is lengthy and requires a significant investment to be developed.

  • Meetings and discussions can be done online through Zoom or Adobe Connect, or for onsite meetings an additional cost for travel is added to the quote.
